Paul Fox is a senior consultant at Derdale Consulting, and the former Director of Corporate Communications at P&G. Previously a journalist, he entered the world of local government public relations during the 1980s, later joining British Midland as the airline's head of public relations and public affairs.
He ran three successful public relations consultancies in Europe before moving to the US in the 1990s to provide strategic communications counsel to many Fortune 500 companies. He joined the Gillette Company in 2000 and was Director of Global External Relations for the company prior to its acquisition by Procter & Gamble in 2005. As Director of Corporate Communications, he oversaw external communications for P&G’s global operations and led its corporate communications work.
An acknowledged expert in crisis and issue management, he speaks and teaches on reputation management throughout the world. External positions have included serving on the board of the Boston Better Business Bureau, the National Association of Manufacturers’ Public Affairs Steering Committee, Chairman Emeritus of the Washington-based Coalition Against Counterfeiting and Piracy and Chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers Working Group on Counterfeiting. He was recognised by President George W. Bush, the US Attorney General and the US Department of Commerce for his leadership on global IP protection.
He is a graduate of Leadership Cincinnati Class 32 and currently serves as the Chair of Leadership Cincinnati Steering Committee, Chair of Cincinnati Leadership Advisory Group, Co-Chair of The Story Project and as a board member of several non-profit organisations, including the Cincinnati Police Advisory Board. He was awarded an individual Sabre in 2013 for outstanding contributions to public relations and was named as one of the P Week Top 50 Most Influential PR Professionals in 2015.
