Nikolaos (Nikos) S. Romanidis started his DPhil in September 2013. He is a member of Christ Church and his research is supervised by Professor Dimitrios Tsomocos and Professor Thomas Noe.
Nikolaos has been awarded an ESRC scholarship and the Saïd Business School (SBS-SBSF) scholarship.
Prior to his arrival in Oxford, in June 2012, he graduated with a Master of Mathematics degree from University of Cambridge, Trinity College with first class honours. His undergraduate studies were also at the University of Cambridge, Trinity College, where he graduated in 2011 with a BA in Mathematics.
Throughout his studies at Cambridge, Nikolaos was on a Cambridge European Trust scholarship. In 2009, he was awarded a Trinity College Junior Scholarship for outstanding academic performance. He has also spent a year in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki studying Mathematics.
He ranked 1st out of approximately 200 students. Nikolaos has won many Mathematics prizes prior to entering University, including a Silver medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad at Hanoi, Vietnam, in July 2007.
His research interests include banking and regulation, financial stability and security design.
