Jeff Randall is a non-executive director at Babcock International, a FTSE 100 company. He has held the position since April 2014 and has chaired the company’s remuneration committee since August 2014. In July 2017 Jeff became an independent non-executive at BDO, the accountancy and business services firm. He has been a director of Sandown Park, a Jockey Club racecourse, since April 2014.
Jeff is an honorary professor in the School of Economics, Nottingham University. From January 2013 to December 2016 he was also a member of Council (the governing body) at Nottingham University.
For 12 months in 2014 to 2015, he was a senior adviser to Tidjane Thiam, then the Group Chief Executive of Prudential.
Before retiring from a 35-year career in journalism in March 2014, Jeff anchored Jeff Randall Live, a four-days-a-week, one-hour business show on Sky News (2007-14) and was editor-at-large for the Daily Telegraph (2005-13). Previously he had been business editor of the BBC (2001-5), City editor of the Sunday Times (1989-95) and was a director of Times Newspapers (1994-5).
Jeff is a graduate of Nottingham University (Economics, 1979) and has been awarded honorary doctorates by Anglia Ruskin University (2001), Nottingham University (2006) and BPP University College (2011).
