Grade 5: £25,482 - £30,395 with a discretionary range to £33,199 p.a.
Oxford Saïd is looking to recruit an enthusiastic IT Officer with significant experience working in a 1st line support role to deliver technical support to the School’s varied customer base. This is an exciting time to join the team and to add value to the world class IT support function.
The School occupies four locations in Oxford including three locations in the city centre and a site on the edge of the city at Kennington, Egrove Park. As part of this role you will be expected to work across all sites.
You will join a small team responsible for operating a busy and friendly Service Desk and supporting the School’s IT customers by delivering a professional and timely response to queries through a variety of communication channels. You will manage complex technical queries, advise on technical issues, diagnose faults and proactively determine solutions.
To be considered at shortlisting you should have significant 1st line technical support experience working in a Service Desk environment with the ability to prioritise conflicting demands and manage own workload. You should have knowledge of using and supporting Microsoft Windows (7,8 and 10), Apple Mac, Active Directory, Microsoft Office (2010, 2013 and 365), Microsoft Outlook and email client technology, Microsoft Exchange, Dell desktops, laptops and printers, wireless technology, Sophos or similar anti-virus products. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss technical issues in clear non-technical language and be able to demonstrate an eagerness to learn new information technology skills and provide professional services when dealing with students, academic and administrative staff.
