A global leader with an outstanding reputation, Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, blends the best of new and old. We are a young, vibrant, and entrepreneurial business school deeply embedded in an 800-year-old, world-class university.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our senior management team as the Director of Estates. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a pivotal role for the school and we are looking for an experienced leader who will make a major contribution to the development of our estate and our exciting capital projects programme, while ensuring we deliver world-class venue services.

The School currently occupies several locations in Oxford, including our Park End Street building; an award-winning site in Oxford city centre, Egrove Park; a residential business meeting venue in a parkland setting, and the Oxford Foundry; the University’s new entrepreneurship centre. The coming years offer great challenges and excitement. Working with the Estates Senior Management team, the school will soon commence a £60m redevelopment of another major site, the Osney Power Station, to serve as a teaching and residential facility for the School’s executive education activity.

World-class ambitions require world-class estate and facilities. Leading a team of over 100, the Director of Estates will ensure strategic oversight and direction to effectively manage the development and delivery of the School’s estate strategy, the delivery of major capital projects, and management of the School’s Estates Services (including catering, reception, housekeeping, portering, and maintenance). Working closely with the Estates Senior Management team, you will continue to advance the School’s reputation for high service levels and be expected to champion customer service, quality and continuous improvement.

Successful candidates will have extensive, relevant experience gained at a senior level in an organisation with complex stakeholder environments. You will have experience of delivering major capital projects, ensuring the client brief is fully delivered and associated change programmes are effectively executed.

In addition, you will have proven team leadership experience, with the capability to lead internal staff members as well as work closely with external partners. Positive, highly committed, and a natural collaborator, you will possess excellent communication skills and commercial acumen with the confidence to succeed in a collaborative environment.
