More students than ever are benefitting from scholarships
At Oxford Saïd, scholarships play a vital role. We offer over 30 scholarship programmes, and support 200 students. In 2021-22, more than a third of our MBA class was supported by a scholarship.
Scholarships allow us to attract the brightest and best. They enable us to uphold our reputation for excellence and encourage strong candidates onto our programmes, increase diversity, achieve gender parity, and remove a crucial barrier to further study.
Our scholarships are widely supported by foundations, corporate partners and individual alumni donors too. Without their generosity we would be unable to support our students so significantly.
Support from foundations
Scholarships receive substantial foundation support, from foundations including the Pershing Square Foundation, Laidlaw Foundation, Weidenfeld-Hoffman Trust, Skoll Foundation and of course, the Saïd Business School Foundation. The Oxford-Pershing Square Graduate Scholarship supports six students on the 1+1 MBA programme with full course fees and a living stipend. The Laidlaw Scholarship offers eight female candidates support of 50-100% of MBA course fees. The Weidenfeld-Hoffman Scholarships and Leadership Programme supports between three to five scholars annually, and covers course fees, provides a living stipend, and offers a comprehensive programme of leadership development, long-term mentoring, and networking. The Skoll Scholarship supports four MBA scholars with full course fees and a living stipend. The Saïd Business School Foundation supports around 55 students a year, through the Saïd Business School Foundation Scholarship, Saïd Business School Foundation Africa Scholarship, and Saïd Business School Foundation Middle East Scholarship.
This scholarship is the reason I attended Saïd Business School. The generosity of the scholarship helped me to complete an MBA, with the added icing on the cake to complete my graduate education at Oxford University.
Support from corporate partners
Strong relationships with corporate partners benefit many areas of life at Oxford Saïd, and scholarships are no exception. Eni-Spa support the Eni-Oxford DPhil Scholarship, a fully funded scholarship, with living stipend, for an excellent DPhil in Management candidate. Eni also support the Eni-Oxford Africa Scholarship for MBA students, which offers two fully funded awards a year. This scholarship is available to candidates resident in one of the African countries in which Eni operates who can contribute to better leadership and governance of the continent. Intesa Sanpaolo support female MBA students through the Oxford-Intesa Sanpaolo MBA Graduate Scholarship which offers seven scholarships over five years covering course fees and a living stipend too.
Receiving the scholarship has fundamentally reduced the financial burden of pursuing my EMBA, giving me precious peace of mind and, perhaps most importantly, significant intellectual and emotional space to more thoroughly immerse myself.
Support from alumni
We’re also indebted to alumni for their support, with four programmes funded by alumni: The Oxford-Hasmukh Patel Graduate Scholarship for EMBA students; The Oxford-Leo Tong Chen Scholarship; The Oxford-Grace Lake Scholarship; and the Oxford Saïd-Hec Montréal Scholarship which supports DPhil, MBA, and MSc students.
Our alumni support scholarships beyond the named programmes too. This year, Saïd Business School launched the Rewley Fund, which powers the Rewley Scholarship programme. The inaugural group of Rewley Scholars will join the School in September 2022. The Rewley Scholarship is alumni-funded, through which collective contributions currently provide ten MBA scholarships and one MFE scholarship.
Formerly known as the Alumni Annual Fund (AAF) scholarship, the scholarship builds on the success of the AAF programme and has been rebranded to reflect the School’s history and the values it is taking into the future. The name pays tribute to the 13th-Century Rewley Abbey, a place of learning that stood on the site of Saïd Business School. Oxford Saïd’s occupancy continues the scholarly tradition of the site and reflects its nature as a modern business school embedded within a much older university tradition.
The AAF scholarship supported me in taking a leap of faith and studying at one of the world's best universities. It has led me to an incredible platform to validate my purpose and belong to a community of brilliant individuals
The Rewley Fund also supports a number of other scholarship programmes including Forté Fellowships for Women, Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA) LGBTQ+ Fellowships, Oxford-Grace Lake Scholarships and Oxford-Leo Tong Chen Scholarships.
Philanthropic support for scholarships throughout Oxford Saïd’s history has facilitated the studies of hundreds of students, and we’re hugely grateful to the benefactors who have had such a lasting impact on the lives of these scholars.
Through the Rewley Scholarship, our community can widen access and have a tangible impact on the lives of future students over the next 25 years, by enabling them to benefit from the education, experience, and networking opportunities that the School offers.
Giving Day 2022, Oxford Saïd’s annual community fundraising marathon, will raise funds for the Rewley Fund to support Rewley Scholarships. It’s an opportunity to be part of transformational change by participating in any way you can, so save the date: 28 June 2022.
