Convened by Juliane Reinecke, Professor of Management Studies and Faculty Director for Sustainability, this bootcamp brought together some of the most respected voices in climate science, policy, and business leadership from the University of Oxford and beyond. Starting the Oxford MBA with this Climate Bootcamp underscores the importance of understanding and addressing the climate crisis as a central challenge for today’s business leaders. This bootcamp was not just an introduction to the subject; it was an invitation to our students to think deeply about the kind of impact you want to make.
Teaching
Degree Programmes
Responsible business education is central to the School’s approach to developing global leaders; seeking to attract and educate students with a passion for enacting change, we provide a wealth of opportunities for students to fully engage with some of the most pressing societal and organisational issues of our time. We set the pace with climate leadership and transformational change curricula in our degree programmes.
Oxford MBA
Our MBA programme exemplifies the systematic incorporation of responsible business across our teaching provision. 51% of our core teaching (55.3 of 107.5 hours), contains ESG-related content. We were delighted to see our dedicated work in this space recognised in 2024 when the Financial Times recognised us as one of five winners in their Responsible Business Education Awards.
MBA Climate Bootcamp
This year, as part of the programme launch for our incoming MBA students, we ran a two-day intensive MBA Climate Bootcamp designed to provide the class with a thorough introduction to the climate crisis and its relevance to business leadership, setting the stage for their own leadership journey at Saïd Business School.

The climate crisis is not a problem for someone else to solve. It is a definitely a challenge for you as future business leaders. We know this is going to happen.
Global Opportunities and Threats: Oxford - Systems Thinking for Leadership in a Complex and Changing World elective
Our MBA and Executive MBA students can participate in GOTO: an action-oriented course designed to equip our students with the skills to navigate and lead in the face of some of the world’s most pressing challenges. The course focuses on how global organisations can effectively address complex issues through systems thinking and leadership. Each academic year we work with school partner organisations on 'live' cases so students can analyse how corporations are tackling global challenges such as sustainability from an organisational perspective.
Capitalism in Debate MBA elective
The role of business in society is changing. While we do not know what the future of capitalism might be, we can see ways in which it can and must change, and we have an obligation to our students, and to the wider world, to equip Oxford MBAs as best as we can for the challenges of the 21st century. One of the three key themes of the Capitalism in Debate MBA course is sustainability and in the delivery of this module we lean towards management practice, asking what is demanded of a transition from business models of the past to the sustainable business of the future.
Executive Education
We offer market leading, climate focused and ESG executive education programmes, including ones specifically run for, and tailored to your organisation.

Future Climate Innovators Summer School
Born from the Oxford Saïd-Burjeel Holdings Climate Change Challenge launched in 2023, this summer programme is designed for change-makers aged 16-18. It will inspire and mobilise the next generation of leaders, change makers and innovators in the climate change space, focusing on air pollution, extreme weather events, water and food scarcity and biodiversity.

'Inspirational, energetic, impressive' – three words which perfectly describe the Future Climate Innovators from across the globe who attended our inaugural Summer School.
At the end of two hectic weeks learning about climate change from leading experts, and then coming up with environmentally-friendly and innovative ideas to tackle the climate crisis, these high school students are even more passionate than ever about the environment.
