Theofanis V Papamichalis started his DPhil in October 2016. He is a member of St Edmund Hall and his research is supervised by Dr Mungo Wilson and Professor Dimitrios Tsomocos.

Theofanis has been awarded the Saïd Business School (SBS-SBSF) scholarship.

Theofanis has demonstrated his capacity to work with numbers and complex models starting from his distinction in several Mathematical Olympiads including the International Mathematical Olympiad where he received a Bronze Medal. He holds First Class Master degrees from Imperial College (MEng in Electrical Engineering), University of Cambridge (Mast in Pure Mathematics) and MIT (Master in Finance).

Theofanis research interests center around theoretical and empirical asset pricing and macro finance and focuses on topics such as the implications of market structure on asset returns, the drivers of the cross-section of risk and return and the impact of belief disagreement and default on systemic risk.

Theofanis will be on the 2021/2022 academic job market.
