Theofanis (Fanis) V. Papamichalis started his DPhil in October 2016. He is a member of St Edmund Hall and his research is supervised by Professor Dimitrios Tsomocos and Professor Mungo Wilson.
Fanis has been awarded the Saïd Business School (SBS-SBSF) scholarship.
Fanis have demonstrated his capacity to work with numbers and complex models starting from his distinction in several Mathematical Olympiads including the International Mathematical Olympiad where he received a Bronze Medal. He holds First Class Master degrees from Imperial College (MEng in Electrical Engineering), University of Cambridge (Mast in Pure Mathematics) and MIT (Master in Finance). His research focuses on Liquidity and Default in continuous time and on Financial Stability at the intersection of Macroeconomics and Finance. His teaching experience includes Asset Pricing, Fixed Income and Derivatives and Financial Crises and Risk Management.
Fanis’ research interests are mainly in the area of Mathematical Economics, Banking, Macroprudential and Monetary Policy and Financial Econometrics.
