Johan started his DPhil in Financial Economics in 2015 under the supervision of Mungo Wilson and Ludovic Phalippou.
His studies are funded by the Said Business School Scholarship, ESRC and Green Templeton College. Johan is affiliated with the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance and is a member of Green Templeton College.
Prior to starting his doctorate, Johan obtained his MSc in Banking and Finance from Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University where he received the ‘Marginalen Bank Master Award in Banking and Finance’ for being the top student of his cohort. He also obtained dual BSc in Business Administration, with specialization in Finance, and Mathematics. During and after finishing his degrees, Johan worked as a teaching assistant at Stockholm University.
Johan received the ‘Ballerina Award’ in 2014 and 2015.
The award, given by the Student Association at Stockholm Business School, is given to the teacher of the year for Outstanding Contributions to Academia at Stockholm Business School. Johan is the only teacher to receive the award two years in a row.
Johan worked four years as a teaching assistant at Stockholm Business School.
During his time as a teaching assistant he conducted lecturers, seminars and calculation exercises. He also developed online material for examinations and self-studying, including video lectures, an Excel tutorial and an introductory mathematical course for business students.
