Elizabeth Paris has been Industry Advisor for Investment Banking and Finance at Saïd Business School since 2002. Elizabeth is also engaged with admission interviews for MBA and Executive MBA candidates.
This follows a 19-year career in corporate finance at Chase Manhattan and J P Morgan, including mergers and acquisitions, project finance and structured finance as Head of Tax Effective Finance. Promoted to Managing Director in 1991, she was at the time both the youngest, and the only woman, managing director in the region.
Over the last decade, Elizabeth has focused on women, entrepreneurship and closing the global credit gap for women entrepreneurs. She is currently engaged by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank Group, in its Banking on Women global advisory initiative, including developing and delivering to banks the IFC global gender sensitivity training programmes.
From 2008 to 2015, Elizabeth's roles included the University of Oxford lead for the Goldman Sachs Foundation initiatives 10,000 Small Businesses UK and the 10,000 Women programmes in Hangzhou and Chengdu, China. She co-founded and co-led Inspiring Women, co-managed the Oxford Forum for Women in the World Economy, and taught women entrepreneurs in Lagos and Accra as part of the China Europe International Business School's Women Entrepreneurship and Leadership for Africa programme.
Elizabeth has co-authored, with Emeritus Professor Linda Scott, two Oxford case studies for 10,000 Women on women entrepreneurs and effective banking in emerging markets:

Elizabeth has an MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
Engagement
In 2011, Elizabeth was appointed a representative of The Queen as a Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire. She is an experienced chair and board member on public and not-for-profit boards at national, regional and local levels, including Chair of The Oxford Playhouse and Chair of The Orwell Youth Award.
She was appointed Distinguished Professor of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Chengdu; Visiting Enterprise Fellow at the Enterprise Centre, Manchester Metropolitan University, and Senior Visiting Researcher, Global Entrepreneurship Research Center, Zhejiang University.
