Since 2008, Teddy Watson has been providing advice and practical support to various teams across the School, including Admissions, Careers, Executive Education, Projects Office and the Dean’s Office.
He has had a number of roles, including general consulting, developing relations between Executive Education and the City, interviewing MBA candidates and providing careers advice to students. He has co-sponsored a number of Strategic Consulting Projects, mostly in rural economies of Africa, and often helps students with start-up businesses.
Teddy spent 35 years in the City, over 20 years as a director and chairman of a number of reinsurance broking and underwriting operations there and in New York and Copenhagen - Indigo Underwriters, Berry Palmer & Lyle, Watson Robinson & Associates, Grieg Fester.
He specialised in treaty reinsurance, particularly that of credit risk, working closely with and advising insurers, reinsurers, governments and multilateral agencies around the world. He was instrumental in a number of important industry developments, including privatisations and the consolidation of the credit insurance industry.
Currently, Teddy heads up a major new project to extend the teaching of Chinese language across the UK for the Swire Group; he is Chairman of Sensonomic Ltd and of the British Exploring Society. He is a Member of Council at Radley College, a member of the Advisory Council of Crédito y Riesgos, Madrid, and founder of the prestigious Wallace Watson Award at St Catherine's College, Oxford.
