Profile

Dennis West is a Researcher at the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation.

Dennis researches organisations and governance, focusing on the formation of social-environmental metrics and contributing to a better understanding of systems innovation at the intersections of Law, Accounting and Organisation Studies.

At the Centre for Corporate Reputation, he combines his research with work on accounting for social capital, especially reporting on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of organisational networks and artificial intelligence. He is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies and is a member of the Academy of Management and European Group of Organisation Studies. His doctoral research is supported by the Economic and Social Research Council and supervised by Professor Bettina Lange and Professor Marc Ventresca. He teaches undergraduate-level General Management and engages with organisations and professionals to enable interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral partnerships for the SDGs.

Previously, he gained professional experience in entrepreneurship, consulting, policy and law. He co-founded several initiatives and organisations in sustainable student engagement and renewable energy finance. He holds an MSc in Accounting, Organisations and Institutions from the London School of Economics, and a BA/MA in Law with Economics from the Universities of Basel, Freiburg and Strasbourg.
