Beata Gafka is a DPhil student in Financial Economics and started her studies in 2015.
She is a member of the Green Templeton College and a Clarendon Scholar. Her research is supervised by Mungo Wilson and Ilaria Piatti.
Beata’s studies are jointly sponsored by the Saïd Business School Foundation and the Clarendon Fund. Her research is also supported by the ESRC Advanced Quantitative Methods Award.
Prior to starting her doctorate, Beata graduated with 110/110 from her MSc in Finance degree at Bocconi University, Milan. Her studies were fully funded by the Bocconi Graduate Merit Award in recognition of her academic achievements. Beata also ranked in the top 1% of the graduating class in her dual Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance and Accounting at Warsaw School of Economics.
Having graduated from her previous degrees, Beata spent two years working in investment banking in London with a particular focus on fixed income markets and currencies.
Beata’s research interests are mainly in the area of empirical and theoretical asset pricing. She is also interested in behavioral finance with a particular focus on market inefficiencies and their interplay with financial regulation.
