Beata Gafka is a DPhil Candidate in Finance and is supervised by Professor Mungo Wilson and Professor Ilaria Piatti.
Her studies are jointly funded by the Saïd Business School Foundation and the Clarendon Fund. Her research is further sponsored by the ESRC Advanced Quantitative Methods Award and Green Templeton College, of which she is a member.
Prior to starting her doctorate degree, Beata obtained an MSc in Finance from Bocconi University, Milan. Her studies were sponsored by the Bocconi Graduate Merit Award in recognition of her academic achievements. Beata holds a BSc in Finance and Accounting and a BA in Economics from Warsaw School of Economics.
Before joining the DPhil Programme, Beata spent two years working in investment banking in London with a particular focus on fixed income markets and currencies.
Beata’s research interests include empirical and theoretical asset pricing. She is also interested in behavioural finance with a particular focus on market inefficiencies and their interplay with financial regulation.
