Project Management Officer – Major Projects Cluster

Grade 6: £32,332-£38,205 per annum with an Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 per annum to be applied with effect from 1 August 2024.

Fixed-term (to 31 March 2026), full time

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Management Officer to join our dynamic Major Projects Cluster team. The Project Management Officer will be integral in supporting the delivery of major project leadership programmes, ensuring all project activities are managed efficiently, within timescales and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate daily activities, monitoring progress, identifying risks and escalating issues when necessary to maintain project timelines.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to programme coordinators, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for enquiries from clients, delivery partners and participants.
  • Coordinate logistics for programme delivery, including events, speaker bookings and facilities arrangements.
  • Handle evaluation feedback, analyse results, produce summary reports and organise design review meetings if necessary.

You should have a strong understanding of project management practices, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently while maintaining excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, especially during busy periods. Additionally, you should have proven experience in managing client relationships within complex organisations and possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with senior corporate contacts, external stakeholders and the academic community.

You must have the Right to Work within the UK as this position may not amount to enough points under the points-based immigration system in the UK.
