Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Grade 7: £32,817 - £40,322 p.a.

Applications are invited for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at Saïd Business School. Reporting to and under the direction of Professor Pinar Ozcan, the postholder will be responsible for managing a research project within the area of financial technology, artificial intelligence and technology entrepreneurship. The postholder will work with Professor Ozcan to explore the ongoing changes in the financial sector at a global scale with the purpose of advancing research, developing industry best practices, and informing policy.

In this role you will conduct academic research to develop research questions within a specific context, conduct research, analyse detailed and complex qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources, and generate original ideas by building on existing concepts. Under the guidance of Professor Ozcan, you will be responsible for key research activities including gathering and cleaning data, analysing data using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods, reviewing and refining theories as appropriate. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement new research methodologies and materials, write research articles, present papers at international conferences, and lead seminars to disseminate research findings.

To be considered for this role you will hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD/DPhil with proven research experience in the field (e.g. qualitative research methods, technology management, entrepreneurship/strategy in digital markets, or a closely related field). You will have specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research projects and methodologies, and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field. You should also have the ability to raise research funds through making grant applications, and manage a research budget.
