We are looking for an articulate, credible and professional buyer to join the school’s newly formed purchasing team.

Working to Saïd Business School’s purchasing and supplier management strategies, the post holder will develop category management plans and deliver discrete purchasing projects driving value for money improvements and enhanced supplier performance across Saïd Business School and its trading subsidiary, Oxford Saïd Business School Ltd.

The post holder will develop strong, effective relations with stakeholders across the Business School; with the central University Purchasing function; and with our strategic suppliers. In doing so, they will ensure that our business needs are thoroughly understood and effectively met, while allowing us to leverage the purchasing power and expertise of the wider University.

To be considered at shortlisting you will have demonstrable experience of identifying category and supplier relationship management opportunities, and for the execution of plans to exploit those opportunities from planning through to the realisation of savings and efficiencies. This will include the management of relationships and projects which are of relatively high value and risk. You will also have experience of acting as a point of support for stakeholders, and for managing communications, ensuring colleagues understand and engage fully with purchasing requirements.
