Janet Smart has prepared an exciting new bid for a Centre for Innovation in the Digital Economy. The Centre will have a strong healthcare focus with projects exploring several important areas - the use of data banks, biobanks and bioinformatics to produce better informed healthcare providers; the use of digital information resources based on personal health experience; investigation of new models of publication of healthcare data; the development of semantics-driven technology to secure data sharing and interoperability; and investigation of how openly available genomic data can be used in the provision of user-facing services.
