The UNIAS Project (Phase I: 2000-2010)
The UNexplored Impacts of international Accounting Standards Project explores various unintended, unexpected and unexplored impacts (hereafter, the "Unexplored Impacts") of IFRS on corporate, economic and much wider social life.
Globalization of accounting standards has been pursued quite exclusively in relation to the efficiency of financial markets. However IFRS has much to do with issues such as corporate governance, human resource management, strategy, taxation, macroeconomic planning, development economics, sustainability management, etc., which have not been integrated in the process of IFRS policy making.
The "Unexplored Impacts" is a wider notion than the "economic consequences" that is occasionally used in the traditional literature. We use this term at least with such an intention to accommodate under-researched impacts of IFRS on wider stakeholders. In order to systematically collect, classify and evaluate the Unexplored Impacts of IFRS, we launched the Web-based Data Platform in 2000. Join the Research and share the knowledge.
