Research indicates that emerging and frontier markets are the primary target for impact investments.
Daniel Izzo is a guest faculty member of Oxford Impact Investing Programme, and Aditi Shrivastava an alumna. They will be sharing their perspectives on locally-driven impact investing and social finance designed to spur economic development and entrepreneurship across Brazil and India respectively.
Daniel will explore how his pioneering work with Brazil’s first impact investing venture capital firm has identified high potential startups and early stage businesses serving the Brazilian low income population, and the solutions they have provided to improve lives.
Aditi will provide examples of her work in India’s first angel network focused on impact enterprises, and explore her engagement with HNIs, family offices and funds, bringing them the most scalable and impactful young enterprises for mentoring and investment.
The recorded insights from Samuel Nwanze, another guest faculty member will also be shared; covering the ways Heirs Holdings and its partner, the Tony Elumelu Foundation, are building a new model to maximize economic development and social innovation; including building the East Africa Exchange (a regional commodities exchange) and developing pipelines for local enterprises in agriculture, health care, and education.
Daniel is the Executive Director, Co-Founder and Executive Director at Vox Capital; Aditi is the Head of Intellecap Impact Investment Network World Bank; Sam is the Chief Investment Officer at Heirs Holding, Nigeria, and a Board Member of the Global Impact Investors Network (GIIN).
