Welcome to the official Oxford Futures Forum website
This site has been created as an area for those involved in the Oxford Futures Forums to exhibit and discuss their ideas. The Oxford Futures Forum aims to:
- Forge and support an international community of future-minded practices aimed at actionable knowledge
- Identify and investigate academic and practitioner interests and relating them to each other
- Reveal scenarios theory and clarifying and extending effectiveness through practice review and linking with other fields
- Enable effective networking and co-produced publications (e.g. two books were produced from first Forum in 2005)
In the first Forum, which took place in Oxford in October 2005, participants (practitioners and academics from around the world) came together to consider how thinking about the future can be mobilised to address turbulence and enhance the quality of existence of individuals and organisations.
The second Forum was themed on 'Sensemaking and Scenarios' and took place at Egrove Park, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford on 14 - 15 April 2008.
The third Forum, themed on 'Scenarios and Complexity', will take place on 18 - 19 April 2011.
Although the site content will be populated by the participants of each Forum, the site is open to everyone and we hope you find the ideas shared here of interest.
