 Benefits

Benefits to the Individual

The Diploma enables participants to acquire general management skills and competencies which complement their professional background and expand their capacity for strategic decision-making.

The programme has been carefully designed to complement existing qualification requirements by taking knowledge and abilities to the next level. The content provides key tools to enhance participant's career prospects.

As all participants share a background in finance, the Diploma offers an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, generate ideas and learn from other members of the class.

By attending the Saïd Business School, participants also gain exposure to top rank business seminars. Frequent high-profile guest lectures provide a steady stream of networking and business opportunities, which participants have the opportunity to attend.

Benefits to the Organisation

The Diploma in Financial Strategy has been designed to enable participants to integrate study into their working lives, while remaining a productive and contributing member of the management team.

Participants are able to apply their learning directly, adding significant value to the organisation from the very first module. The Diploma business project offers an opportunity to explore in depth an issue which has direct relevance to sponsoring organisations.

"I am a chief analyst of the global portfolio at a worldwide utility company. Our team advises general management on configuring our future portfolios, and supports and co-ordinates strategic planning. The Diploma has been very useful and I actively use the portfolio theory learnt on the course in my role."

Luc Castadot, Diploma in Financial Strategy 2009

Networks

For centuries, the University of Oxford has produced some of the most influential and respected people in business. Oxford Graduates are represented in every Fortune 500 Company, country and government in the world.

The Oxford Business Alumni (OBA) was established in 1998 and exists to provide a focus for Oxonians who have a special interest in the world of business. There are currently 23 regional groups (or Chapters) of the OBA, spanning every continent across the world.

As a member of the Oxford Business Alumni, participants will be entitled to access the alumni search directory, an invaluable tool for networking with organisations throughout the world. Alumni are invited to attend regular seminars, lectures and other networking events, giving current participants and alumni the chance to meet, exchange ideas and get to know each other.

We encourage participants to take an active role on the Advisory Board during their time at the School and further information can be found on the OBA website at www.oba.co.uk.

Attending the Saïd Business School gives you the chance to gain exposure to the top ranks of the business world. Regular seminars and guest lectures provide a steady stream of networking opportunities. As well as visits from individual guests, the Business School hosts a number of major conferences, including the leading annual forum for social entrepreneurs around the world and a gathering of movers and shakers from Silicon Valley.
