General Eligibility Criteria
- an Indian national with a valid Indian passport
- conversant with written and spoken English
Please note: You are not eligible if you:
- have in the past received a British Government funded scholarship
- work for the British Government (including the British Council, DFID and PAG's). Ex-employees cannot apply within 2 years of leaving such employment.
- apply from another country
How to Apply
Applicants should not apply directly to the UK programme providers. Simply complete the Chevening application form.

- Only online applications will be accepted: Use the link from the Apply Now box in the upper right corner.
- No late applications will be accepted.
The application requires mention of contact details of two referees. Please note that the referees should be professional and/or academic. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to send references in sealed envelope before the final interviews.
Please apply only for Chevening Rolls-Royce Science and Innovation Programme. We are not open for Chevening Scholarships for Gurukul, Masters / PhD degree Programmes.
- The British Council will further contact only short listed candidates inviting them for interviews. Please do not contact the British Council to enquire about the progress of your application.
- Interviews will be conducted in New Delhi in January or February 2012. Short listed candidates will be expected to make their own travel arrangements and accommodation Unfortunately, the British Council is unable to reimburse cost incurred in attending the interview.
- The decision of the Interview Panel is final.
