 Learning experience

Huda Al-Ghoson, Director, HR Policy & Planning Department, Saudi Aramco

"I felt proudly invigorated. It was an enlightening and exhilarating experience that has recharged my commitment and energy to lifelong learning. It strengthened my ability to lead by learning more about myself as a leader and appreciating the concept of ‘servant’ leader.  I learned that developing the capacity to lead involves exploring my attitudes and behaviours; embracing change and letting events unfold through me."

Context

Saïd Business School is fully integrated into one of the world’s greatest universities. The enables us to draw upon Oxford’s strengths across a range of subjects and research centres, including mapping current and future trends in civilisation, technology, migration, economics, law, psychology, politics and international relations. Working at the interface of disciplines, faculty and researchers are mining rich new insights into issues including climate change, sustainable enterprise, globalisation and the emergence of new multinational enterprises, increasing competition for controlling energy and water resources, social entrepreneurship, changing role of enterprises, and a new social and political order driven by communication.

By attending the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme you will become part of this 800 year old institution. You will dine with, debate and discuss your challenges with peers and world class experts, who provide intellectual leadership for governments, institutions and organisations world-wide. Our faculty represent thought leaders, award-winning authors and pioneering researchers in their fields who are committed to helping organisations stay ahead whether by expanding our understanding of the global marketplace, developing powerful leaders or by identifying strategic demands required for extreme business conditions. An international diversity of participants and faculty are the hallmark of our Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme.

Courage

‘True wisdom comes to each of us when we realise how little we understand about life, ourselves and the world around us’ Socrates (BC 469-BC 399)
The Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership learning model is designed to enhance your personal effectiveness within thought-provoking stimuli. Working through the three core concepts of the programme; Your Global Challenges and Insights, Your Organisational Challenges and Choices and Your Leadership Journey; you will embark on a learning journey that will challenge everything you think you know. You will discuss, debate, role-play and simulate your way through live case studies and class sessions to examine decision and consequence.  We will draw upon pre-programme 360 degree assessments to build your leadership development profile and immerse you within topical case studies and challenges to examine real-time strategic issues.

Comprehension

If you are thinking at a strategic level, an understanding of your business context is not enough; you must gain strategic awareness from the wider global picture. Experts from the University of Oxford will lead discussions on country, regional and global level contexts and examine those challenges which continue to affect world markets. Particular emphasis is given to strategy in a changing world, global marketing challenges, the innovation imperative, strategic management, leader as performer, financial diagnoses and management, valuation, value drivers and value based management, mergers and acquisitions, developing and sustainging talent, self-motivation and leadership effectiveness, restructuring in an international context, extreme strategy, leading change (in public, private, civil and social sectors), visioning and mapping future scenarios. Your discussions will be further enhanced by the geographical diversity of participants selected for the programme, who are from a mix of private, public and civil sector, and entrepreneurial organisations.
