Derek Walker, Director of Careers

"The MSc in Financial Economics 2008 class were fortunate enough to graduate before the brunt of the financial crisis hit in the last quarter of 2008. However, the job market was already beginning to become more challenging. In spite of this, we are pleased to see MFE students continuing to secure good positions at a range of prestigious organisations."

Employment highlights

  • More than 88% of graduates seeking employment had secured offers within three months of completion.
  • The most popular destinations for graduates were: investment banking (53%), management consulting (18%), and hedge funds (18%).
  • The average post-MFE salary was reported at £40,000.
