Welcome and congratulations on being admitted to the one year MBA at Oxford!
Together with the offer letter, Oxford MBA admitted candidates will receive an invitation to attend one of our Welcome Days held at the Saïd Business School.
Attending a Welcome Day is a great chance to meet faculty members, prominent alumni and current students as well as some of your future classmates. The day is designed to offer accepted students and their families an opportunity to learn more about life in Oxford. At a Welcome Day candidates will attend:
- A welcome presentation by the Oxford MBA Programme Director, Stephan Chambers. Stephan teaches entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance on the programme, and works with the University of Oxford's technology transfer company, Isis Innovation.
- A careers presentation by Derek Walker, Director of Careers. Derek is responsible for the overall management of the Careers team at Saïd Business School. He will introduce you to the kind of recruitment events that will take place at the School, workshops and skills sessions that you will have access as an Oxford MBA student. Derek will also discuss some approaches you may wish to consider adopting before starting the programme in relation to your intended career direction after the MBA.
- An introduction to the Oxford Business Alumni (OBA) Network and a Q&A with MBA alumni and current students.
- A Q&A session with admissions staff. Our admissions team will guide you through the process of securing college membership, provide advice regarding financial aid, assist you to secure accommodation and obtain a visa.
- A college dinner. The day will finish with a dinner at one of the Oxford colleges, with faculty, staff, current students and alumni.
If you receive an offer, we strongly recommend candidates to attend if they can. Please remember attendance to this event is limited to admitted MBA candidates and their families only.
