Image Archive: Probes packs

Prior to the first workshop, a "cultural probes" pack - a white cardboard Chinese food pail containing a number of objects - was sent out to all project participants. The aim of this pack was to stimulate participants' thinking about services by sending them something materially related to service design and provision and to capture some of these thoughts using the pack itself. The cultural probe is a design research method devised by Gaver et al (1999). The photos here are of the pack itself, and of some of the "data" that was returned, including photos of services taken by participants using disposable cameras included in the pack.
