Francesca Brusa is as a D.Phil. student in Financial Economics and a member of Balliol College. She joined Saïd Business School in 2012 after completing an MPhil in Economics in Oxford. Her research is mainly supervised by Tarun Ramadorai.
Francesca is affiliated to and fully sponsored by the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance. For the first year of her M.Phil. studies, she was awarded a “Fondazione Luigi Einaudi” scholarship, sponsored by “Compagnia di San Paolo”. In 2011, her research on carry trades was also supported by the Bank of Italy.
Francesca graduated with 110/110 cum laude from both her Undergraduate and MSc studies in Economics and Social Sciences at Bocconi University, Milan. Her MSc thesis won the “Angelo Costa” – XIVth edition award.
Francesca’s research interests are mainly in the area of International Finance and Asset Pricing. She has a specific interest in carry trade activities, currency markets and the potential spill-over effects on the real economy of speculative strategies implemented in these markets.
