Germán is a DPhil student in the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford. He earned a degree in Industrial Engineering and a diploma in Chemical Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, as well as an MBA and an M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Oxford. In the past, he has worked primarily doing portfolio management for both the private and non-profit sectors, and has hold managerial positions in the maritime industry in Chile. His current research is focused on the behaviour of natural resources companies, in particular how taxation regimes affect their production and investment decisions.
