Overview
Dr. Thomas Middelhoff is Chairman and founding partner of Pulse Capital Partners LLC, a specialised asset management firm focused on hedge funds. Between 2005 and 2009 he was Chairman and CEO of Arcandor AG, the holding company for the major German retail business Karstadt, certain retail mail order businesses, and the Thomas Cook Group which was listed by Arcandor in 2007 and in which it retained a majority stake.
Thomas joined the Bertelsmann Group in 1986 and was appointed Chairman of the Managing Board of Mohndruck Gmbh and a Member of the Board of the Print and Industrial Enterprises division of Bertelsmann AG (now Arvato AG) in 1990. In 1994 he was appointed a Member of the Management Board of Bertelsmann AG as Head of Corporate Development and Coordinator of Bertelsmann’s multimedia business worldwide. He was appointed Chairman and CEO of Bertelsmann Group in 1998. In 2003 he joined Investcorp International Ltd in London as a Partner and was Head of Europe for Corporate Investment. Dr Middelhoff holds a number of non-executive positions including AEG Power Solutions and The New York Times Company., and he is Chairman of Senator Entertainment AG.
