 David Wighton 

Overview

David Wighton is Associate Editor, Business and Politics at The Times, and the newspaper’s chief business commentator. He was previously  The Times’ Business and City Editor.

He joined the Times in May 2008 from the Financial Times where he was New York Bureau Chief and US banking editor. In fourteen years with the FT, he also served as US News Editor, Financial News Editor and Chief Political Correspondent.

He started his career in the computer trade press before joining the Investors Chronicle and then moving to The Daily Telegraph in 1990. He was editor of the Telegraph’s Questor column and City news editor. He studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at New College, Oxford and went on to the City University Journalist School. He lives in London with his wife and their two young children.
