David was Chief Executive of Capital Radio PLC for eight years until the company merged with GWR PLC in May 2005. He was Chief Executive of the newly formed company, GCap Media PLC, overseeing the integration of the business until resigning in September 2005. He left the company in January 2006.

David has spent over 30 years in media, starting his career as a Marketing Executive at Scottish Television and Grampian Sales in 1977. He remained at STAGS until joining Thames Television as Marketing Controller in 1985. He was Deputy Director of Sales and Marketing at Thames until joining Capital Radio as Group Commercial Director in 1993. He is married with 3 children.
