 Tamar Parush

Overview

Tamar Parush’s research focuses on the spread of management ideas and practices, and on management consulting firms and professional associations as prominent actors in this process. Her doctoral dissertation examined management fashions and management movements as mechanisms of innovation diffusion and institutional change.

Parush’s other research interests revolve around organizational culture, discourse and argumentation. Within this field, she studied the organizational culture of symphony orchestras, focusing on how metaphor, synecdoche, irony and other tropes are played out in this culture.

Parush received her PhD from Tel Aviv University, and her MA (Sociology and Anthropology, Summa Cum Laude) and BA (Psychology and Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She joined the Novak Druce Centre for Professional Service Firms as Post Doctoral Research Fellow in October 2008.
