The Development of a Consumer Society in India
This project aims to generate realistic scenarios for the future development of a consumer society in India, especially in relation to the public policy and economic impacts on both retail sector and consumer goods industries. The OXIRM-IMIK Retail Research Programme seeks to provide the knowledge, skills and expertise required to build a strong retail sector within India (and elsewhere) that contributes positively to the economy, society and environment. This will be done by leading the debate and subsequent actions in the key areas of public policy, retail practice, and retail management education.
