The Centre works closely with
Isis Innovation,
the University’s technology transfer company to accelerate research commercialisation within Oxford University. By raising awareness about entrepreneurship and offering entrepreneurship teaching and training, we aim to create an entrepreneurial culture within Oxford and to stimulate venture creation out of Oxford's research base. To especially support emerging software ventures, the Centre has joint forces with Isis in the Isis Software Incubator.
Technology Transfer through Isis Innovation
Isis Innovation works with University researchers on identifying, protecting and marketing technologies through licensing, spin-out company formation, consulting and material sales. It provides researchers with commercial advice, funds patent applications and legal costs, negotiates exploitation and spin-out company agreements, and identifies and manages consultancy opportunities.
ISIS works on projects from all areas of the University’s research activities: life sciences, physical sciences, social sciences and humanities and has assisted in the formation of more than 100 University spin-out companies since 1997, generating significant value in equity holdings for the University.

Isis Software Incubator
The Oxford Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation works with Isis Innovation to support emerging software ventures within the University. The Isis Software Incubator supports software start-ups and assists them trading without external investment. The key characteristcs of candidates are:
- Oxford Input copyrighted IP
- No external investment needed
- Entrepreneurs/founders have a connection with the University of Oxford
