 Nir Vulkan 

Nir Vulkan is a Reader in Business Economics at the Saïd Business School, Oxford and a Fellow of Worcester College.

His research focuses on market design, especially in the context of electronic commerce. He is the author of many academic papers and a book The Economics of E-Commerce which was published in 2003 by the Princeton University Press. He has also extensive commercial experience: He developed several e-commerce technologies that are used in B2B and B2C electronic markets and holds a number of patents in this area. In recent years he developed a number of algorithms for automated trading which are used to trade futures by one of the world largest Hedge Funds.

After taking a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science at Tel Aviv University, Vulkan worked as a research fellow at Northwestern University and then completed a PhD in Economics at University College, London in 1997. Before joining Saïd Business School he held a lectureship at Bristol University.
