 Innovation plus

The Oxford Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division of the University of Oxford are launching a new programme for graduate students called Innovation Plus.

The programme will provide training for graduate research students in enterprise and entrepreneurship. The purpose is to enable participants to develop the skills to commercialise of their research and to assess its economic and societal impact.

The Innovation Plus programme is divided into two parts: attending the Building a Business evening course, with a focus on basic business skills and technological enterprise; participating in the Oxford MBA elective course in “Technology and Innovation Strategy” studying with Saïd Business School faculty and working alongside MBA students. Students will attend classes and participate in practical work and project assignments within the course. Twenty-four hours of teaching is provided at MBA level.

There is no formal examination, but at the end of the MBA elective, participants will be asked to write a paper covering some or all of the following areas: the potential commercialisation of your research, its impact on the economy and society, the potential for research dissemination, or other aspects of knowledge transfer.
