 Dominic C J Cook

Overview

Dominic Cook is a member of British Telecommunications plc’s Major Programme Practice Executive providing up-stream and down-stream legal advice and assistance primarily in support of its multi-billion pound NHS National Programme for IT (“NPfIT”) contracts.

The multi-billion pound NPfIT is currently the largest civil IT project in the world.  It is bringing modern computer systems into the NHS which will improve patient care and services. Once installed, the new IT infrastructure and systems will connect more than 100,000 doctors, 380,000 nurses and 50,000 other healthcare professionals; benefiting more than 50 million patients in England across almost 300 hospitals.

Cook is Lead Partner of a team of 27 lawyers supporting the bid by British Telecommunications plc to win four (two national and two Local Service Provider) contracts as part of the NHS’s NPfIT. He is also Lead Partner across a range of projects providing advice to IT and telecommunications clients looking to make strategic investments into infrastructure, multi-media entities, fixed and mobile operators in India, North America, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa and mainland Europe; and Lead Partner advising on the creation of a new national fixed/mobile operator in Germany to include the establishing of a joint venture, all network build (inc. network sharing) roll-out and supply issues.
