Developing knowledge about CSR

The Oxford-Achilles Working Group on Corporate Social Responsibility

The Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford and Achilles Group have jointly launched an exciting initiative on corporate social responsibility. The Oxford-Achilles Working Group on Corporate Social Responsibility brings intelligent debate and practical recommendations to an important but under-developed field of corporate life.

An inaugural handshake in Geneva.

Dana Brown, of Oxford's Saïd Business School, and Colin Maund, CEO of Achilles, at the inaugural event in Geneva.

There has been unprecedented growth in interest in corporate social responsibility but it remains a relatively new area in which businesses are unclear about how best to apply ideas to day-to-day operations, and business schools struggle to know how best to teach and research it. The working group will raise the level of discussion of corporate social responsibility and develop thinking that is relevant to practitioners in the field. The group is a key focal point for researchers from a wide range of disciplines and will bring them together with practitioners from many international industries.

The initiative was launched on 30th October 2006.
