The School has raised a significant number of gifts from a range of generous individuals, companies and trusts. Below is a list of our founding donors. To see a list of current donors, please download the School’s Annual Review.
Mr Wafic Saïd
Oxford’s vision of a business school was made real by a £20 million matching donation from Mr Wafic Saïd. Mr Saïd’s gift was made on the condition that Oxford raised £21.25 million to endow core academic posts and contributed a percentage towards the new building. Mr Saïd remains a generous supporter of the School and has made a number of subsequent donations to key areas of the School’s activities, most notably donating a further £15 million to the new building currently under construction at the School.
Sir Peter Moores CBE DL
Sir Peter Moores holds the unique position of being the first major benefactor to management studies at Oxford. It was the foresight and faith of Sir Peter that paved the way for Mr Saïd’s benefaction to the School. Through the Peter Moores Foundation, Sir Peter donated £2 million in 1991 to endow the Peter Moores Dean and the Peter Moores Professor in Management Studies, the two first academic posts in management studies at Oxford. More recently, the Peter Moores Foundation donated nearly £2 million in order to fund a Lecturership in Chinese Business Studies.
