The School has raised a significant number of gifts from a range of generous individuals, companies and trusts. Below is a list of our founding donors.
Mr Wafic Saïd
Oxford’s vision of a business school was made real by a founding donation from Mr Wafic Saïd. Mr Saïd’s initial £20 million gift was made on condition that Oxford raised the equivalent to endow core academic posts and contribute a percentage towards the School’s first building. Mr Saïd remains a generous supporter of the School, having donated £70 million to date. More recent donations include £15 million for the new building currently under construction and an endowment for a Strategic Development Fund for the School.
Sir Peter Moores CBE DL
Through the Peter Moores Foundation, Sir Peter endowed the Peter Moores Dean, the Peter Moores Professor in Management Studies, and the Peter Moores Lectureship in Chinese Business Studies.
Lord Sainsbury of Preston Candover KG
The School is grateful to Lord Sainsbury for his extremely generous benefaction and has named The Sainsbury Library in his honour.
The Rhodes Trust
The School is very grateful for The Rhodes Trust’s ongoing support for the University in general, and the School in particular through the Rhodes Trust Lecture Theatre and to endow a core post in management studies.
L'Oréal
In 2001, the world-wide leader in cosmetics, L'Oréal, expressed its wish to back marketing activities at the Saïd Business School and endowed the L'Oréal Chair in Marketing, for which the School expresses its deepest gratitude.
American Standard Foundation
The School would like to thank American Standard Companies for the endowments of the American Standard Professor in Management Studies.
